Historically, the art of safrut, scribing sacred Jewish texts kosher for use in ritual life, has been the domain of the haredi (“ultra-Orthodox”) and Orthodox worlds, learned and practiced by men. I am proud to be a part of a new set of scribes who want to share the beauty and meaning of this work with a broader audience.
I am available for experiential visits and classes in synagogues, religious preschools, day schools, Hebrew schools, b’nai mitzvah groups, and private groups. I have experience teaching students of all ages and particularly enjoy working with individuals and communities who have historically felt left out of traditional Jewish communities.
My speaker’s fee begins at $400 for a one-time visit of up to two hours, and I’m happy to discuss class series or ongoing engagements. Transportation and materials may be additional. Please contact me to talk about working together.
